About Our Client

Our client is a well-established international investment and asset management business with operations across multiple jurisdictions. Due to continued growth and evolving business requirements, we are currently recruiting an experienced Senior Fund Controller to join their finance team in the Zug area.

Job Description

As Senior Fund Controller, you will take responsibility for the financial oversight, reporting, and control of a portfolio of investment structures. Acting as a key business partner to internal and external stakeholders, you will ensure the timely delivery of financial information, regulatory requirements, and operational processes.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee fund and investment vehicle accounting, reporting, and financial control activities
  • Review periodic NAV calculations, reconciliations, financial statements, and supporting documentation
  • Coordinate external service providers and ensure adherence to agreed deliverables and timelines
  • Monitor capital activity, cash management, forecasting, and investor-related transactions
  • Support audits and act as a key contact for external auditors and other professional service providers
  • Collaborate closely with investment, legal, compliance, tax, and operations teams
  • Participate in the setup and launch of new investment structures and related initiatives
  • Identify opportunities to improve controls, reporting processes, and operational efficiency
  • Support management with financial analysis and ad hoc reporting requirements
  • Contribute to ongoing systems, automation, and process improvement projects

The Successful Applicant

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent) is advantageous
  • Several years of experience within fund accounting, fund controlling, financial reporting, audit, or alternative investments
  • Strong understanding of investment structures and financial reporting environments
  • Experience working with external administrators, auditors, and professional service providers
  • Sound knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, or comparable accounting frameworks
  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with modern reporting systems and tools
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional European languages are considered a plus
  • Hands-on, proactive, and solution-oriented personality with strong stakeholder management skills
